A Leader in Green Manufacturing

There are a lot of ways for a polybag manufacturer to be environmentally responsible, and at Rainbow we’ve adopted them all. It is our firm commitment to play a leadership role in our industry when it comes to being green.

How do we do it? Let us list the ways:

• Producing recyclable plastic bags. Our recyclable bags are made with a different process to make the recycling process easier. But even our standard plastic bags can and should be recycled whenever possible.

• Use of recycled resins. Unbeknownst to a lot of people, the plastics industry, us included, is all about minimizing waste and maximizing the reuse of materials.

• Recycling of printing inks, solvents, and scrap plastic. Doing right and saving money are often flip sides of a coin called Prudence. It’s how we roll.

• Paperless communications, including billing. If you don’t have to cut down a tree, why would you? That’s our philosophy. We love not cutting down trees!

• Simply by being a U.S.-based manufacturer. Our products don’t have to be shipped overseas. Instead, they are delivered to our clients much closer to home, diminishing the carbon footprint of the business cycle dramatically.

It may seem counter-intuitive for a plastics manufacturer to embrace green methods the way we do, but we don’t think so at all. Being green is a perfect way to combine the best elements of the past and present.

This country was built, after all, by people who knew a thing about thriftiness (“Waste not, want not”) and who also were intent on growing their businesses, the national economy, and the quality of life for the whole country.

That’s a business tradition that we’re proud to be part of, knowing that we’re helping preserve our planet’s natural resources while we do it. We may be based in one of the largest cities in the United States, but it turns out we care about the sky and water as much as anyone.
